Why were Popeye and Bluto/Brutus always fighting over ugly skinny ‘Olive Oyl”?
Seriously? Two MILITARY men who can have any cartoon dame they wanted, why did they fight over that ugly toothpick?
She had a TERRIBLE personality, she was always hot for Bluto, until he tried to do her, then she freaked and ran back to Popeye after treating him like crap...and yes, those two were ugly too. 
She was the only girl available, if she wasn't around they would have to share Wimpy. I doubt popeye would have minded though - worse things happen at sea.

Wow, I honestly don't know but there could be reasons. She seems to have a sweet personality and she is very funny.
