What’s with cartoons??
Do you guys miss bug bunny daffy and popeye? They aren't on my cable or on my friends satellite. Anyone check out the cartoon network, looks like a bunch of bad comic strips?? Was bugs really that bad or violent? We need an acme channel just for the road runner! LOL
Nick has become the spongbob channel!!
I’ll go with the Acme Channel - - - - beep beep! CJ
I agree! I love those cartoons.
great cartoons! I Loved Daffy and those eyes he made!! ahhahaaha. Guess a different era
I agree, most cartoons nowdays look creepy. I don’t let the grandkids watch most of them. I would love to have some of the old ones back again.
My daughter gets them on direct TV. I watch them with my granddaughter. I must admit though, these new cartoons are really bad and what’s even worse are all these real life programs like Hanna Montana and Cory in the House and all those ones with those young people acting so sexy and cool. YUK!
I hate Japanese anime…give me bugs and the classic music anyday! §
I agree with you–love Roadrunner and Wile E. Coyote. Bugs and Elmer Fudd. Kids understand they are just cartoon characters. "Big Brother" is being over-protective.
Bugs was good in the day. But i am a fan of cartoons. Watched them with my children and with my grandchildren. And i like them all. in there own way. Especially all the cartoon movies they come out with,. I love taking my grandsons and boy do they love’m.
My children grew up with those that you mentioned. I like them because they bring back pleaasent memories.
I love Looney Tunes. What great characters! Daffy, Bugs, the Roadrunner and the Coyote. They were no worse than some of the stuff kids watch today. I miss them. I buy CD’s of their cartoons whenever I can.
I’ve been told that cartoons are on the tv early Saturday morning. And since I’m sleep early Sat., I haven’t seen them nor would I choose to give up any time to wake up early just to view cartoons–I already only get 5 hours of sleep and I work Saturdays. Last time I did try to watch cartoons, and granted I was also trying to do something on my computer, I just couldn’t get into it (Scooby Do or something). And I seem to have lost the ability to "read" comics too (I can read the words and follow the pictures, just don’t get why we are wasting paper for them–I guess that’s what it is).
But back in the day, I LOVED certain tv cartoons, not so much the Looney Tunes ones but the Rocky & Bullwinkle ones (Fractured Fairytales, Dudley Doright, others). And I loved the Mad magazine comics (Spy vs. Spy–yikes, can’t remember all the other great ones). I also got into the R. Crumb comics and some of the others of that era (what I consider "art" comics).
I do have a friend who still gets up early Sat. to watch the cartoons and LOVES Daffy, Tweety, Sylvester, etc. Bugs was just Bugs–I always thought he was cool.
Does anyone remember a cartoon/comic about "Wimpy" who ate hamburgers (somehow related to Popeye maybe)? He always made eating hamburgers look so delicious. There was also a character (don’t recall which cartoon though) who popped radishes and munched them (got my love for radishes from him).
"Good" cartoons take time and artistic talent to produce, the stuff you are seeing takes no talent nor intelligence to produce and is geared for the enjoyment of a very young age group (hopefully more parents will realize the negative value for their offspring)
