What Does This Mean? (a Fortune cookie)?
"If you want to be like Popeye, your girlfriend Needs to be like Olive Oyl?"
The question mark was included in the fortune, exactly.
"If you want to be like Popeye, your girlfriend needs to be like Olive Oyl?"
Exactly as on the fortune. I already checked wikipedia and google. This was my last resource!
xox.gorg... - that was a horrible answer.
People; honestly, I already know who popeye is! but why the questionb mark at the end??? is it because the writers weren't too sure either? (lol)
It sounds like crappy rap lyrics, but I’m guessing something was just lost in translation. I wouldn’t worry about it.
If you want to be like popeye {dependent upon an outside source (spinach) to make you strong and acceptable, not using own inner strength}, your girlfriend has to be like olive oyl (excepts that you must use something to make you strong and acceptable/virile, and this she must sometimes be patient for while it sometimes takes time to take affect.
this means you must inject yourself with anabolic steroids mixed with spinach and your gf must have the most annoying voice ever.
Look on Wikipedia/ Google

if u want to be like popeye ur girlfriend needs to be like olive oyl
It’s rather wimpy but, I’ll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today.
This isn’t a "serious" fortune, if such a thing exists. You know who Popeye is, right? He’s a cartoon sailor that eats spinach so he can have big muscles. His girlfriend is a super-skinny cartoon girl with short hair named Olive Oyl. But if you’re really trying to get some fortune-esque information from this cookie, then I guess you could interpret it as: If you want to be a sailor who likes spinach, then you have to get a stick-skinny girlfriend.
Perhaps its just cheap and nasty writing.
Obviously it makes a comment about Popeye needing Olive Oyl to be what he was.
But you only have to listen to your horoscope on radio or TV to catch the same sort of not too clever writing in. IMO
It is a reference to the old cartoon. Popeye was a product of his relationship with Olive Oyl. Relationships change people.
Or it could also mean that there is a Chinese fortune cookie writer who is getting so bored of old fashion fortunes that he is going loopy on Chinese beer and writing silly phrases.
Olive Oyl was the name of popeyes bird, shes always getting into trouble and popeye comes in to save the day!
