What can he do?
My sons 15 year old pirona is sick. Bluto had some green slime on him. They cleared some of it up but he's still floating on his side. If you tap on him he swims up right but then goes back to his side.
This is a piranah. If other fish were in the tank he ate them. That's what he does.
It might be that the fish is old, but maybe not. If the fish isn’t in his own tank, put him in a quarantine tank, just so that if he is sick, the others aren’t affected by it. After that, you’re probably going to have to go to a fish advice forum and describe the fish behavior. They’ll probably give you better answers.
I’d recommend you ask at aquariumadvice.com
I had a gold fish that was really old and it was floating on its side just before it died.
I had some fish that did this to. Is he bloated some to? Mine died and I think it was to much food here. Any ways it does not sound good to me..
maybe he is just lonely
either he’s just recovering or he has a swim bladder problem (mabye)
He is just resting.
the best way is to give it proper good and medicine
Your fish just might be getting old. To see if there is anything you can do, take it to the vet.
What is a pirona? Did you mean "piranha"?
Get a picture of the fish and take it to the pet store or a bookstore. There are different types of illnesses for fishes and you need the proper treatment or things will get worse. But without see a picture of the slime, it is hard to diagnose the problem.
umm.. you can putting him in his own tank if he isn’t all ready and get some new water mixed…with a little of the old water and see how he does
I wouldn’t keep on tapping on him or bothering him etc. cause that could stress him out so just leave him alone
He could also be sick from old age because he is 15 so.. its just a part of life
