Was that Cheri Oteri in the 1980 version of Popeye the Sailor?
I was watching t.v. the other day when I came across the 1980 movie of Popeye with Robin Williams. In one of the parts there were some cooks getting ready and running back and forth. If my eyes don't deceive me I think one of the runners was a very young Cheri Oteri. I think she had two buckets in her hands. Can anyone confirm my suspicion?
It’s almost certainly not Cheri Oteri. Judging by her IMDb page, Oteri’s first on-screen credit was for “Saturday Night Live” in 1995. According to her bio, she didn’t become a performer until she was about 29, in 1991, when she joined the Groundlings troupe in Los Angeles (where an SNL scout discovered her.) She would have been about 17 and still in high school in Pennsylvania when “Popeye” was being filmed thousands of miles away in Malta.
(BTW, Shelley Duvall played Olive Oyl in the movie, so it’s definitely not Duvall that the questioner is thinking of in that scene.)

No. Her first film was Liar Liar which was released in 1997. Probably just someone that looked like her.
