The cartoon itself is titled simply 'Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy' and is a 17 minute short cartoon by Dave Fleischer. I keep getting lead to a Popeye anthology and its possible it was put on there but I don't want to shell out more than 50 dollars for a dvd set I won't even watch. =( And if it helps any, it was made in 1941. I don't ask for a free view online. I would certainly pay. Anything would be helpful.

I'm a gymnast so one day while I was stretching I heard behind me someone (I know his name is Emo but we don't know each other personally, anyway we've never spoken to each other) to tell somebody: "hey doesn't she remind you of Olive Oyl from Popeye the sailor cartoon?
I thought they were talking about me, so I turned to them. The first guy - Emo asked me about my name, I told them it's Meggie, but the other guy didn't hear it rights and said "Peggie?!" and started to laugh. I got annoyed (and also blushed with my stupid shyness) and said loudly "My name is Meggie." then the first guy said "sorry he didn't heard it right.because he's dull". Anyway I went on my training.
Then on other day I went to the gym I heard "Hey, Olive". It was the first guy - Emo, but in that moment I was with my back to him so I decided not to turn round to him and not to say anything. It didn't sound like mockery, but normally and simple.
Also today while I was doing my routine on the beam, other guy asked Emo to make a clip of his high bar routine so Emo stood next to the beam I was practicing on. He asked me if he was standing in my way (he asked me simply, without laughing ot anything else) but I said no. Actually the true answer was yes but I didn't own up. I continued doing my exercise but as I burned with shame (because I wasn't calm to concentrate and fell few times off the beam) I just sat on the ground and took some rest.

I really don't understand. Do you think he had had any thoughts or intentions of me buy saying that about Olive Oyl?
What would you think if you were me and you were compared to Olive Oyl?

did you like
Mighty Mouse or Under Dog better? Why?

Quick Draw McGraw or Yosemite Sam better? Why?

Huckleberry Hound or Wil E Coyote better? Why?

Betty Boop or Olive Oyl better? Why?

Felix the Cat or Sylvester better? Why?

Woody Wood Pecker or Tweety better? Why?

Anyone notice that in many cartoons you can actually understand swear words in the muttering etc.

The only cartoon I can think of is Popeye, but there are quite a few that will have a few swear words in it. But Popeye has at least one swear word in just about every toon written for him.

Between him and Brutus I am sure Sweet Pee will turn out pretty raunchy.
In the 443.5 hours of children's programming analyzed by the PTC,
they found

858 incidents of verbal aggression (e.g. abusive yelling, mean-spirited insults and put-downs)

250 incidents of offensive language (such as excretory references or euphemisms for obscene language)

595 incidents of disruptive, disrespectful or otherwise problematic attitudes and behaviors

275 incidents of sexual content

so please don't tell me there are none.

I'm Indonesian. When watching cartoon movies such as POPEYE, Casper, etc, baby always send by pelicans. Why? Can someone explain? Is that a myth? Thx b4.
@Momie, Gonzo, Ariel:

Thx 4 answering. Cuz in South East Asia (indonesia). There is no story like that.So it's Stork. I thought it was Pelican. LOL..

thanks!

ok. details might be a little vague but here goes. im trying to find a halloween cartoon movie thing that use to show on tv like in the 90's or something. i was like 8 or somthing. but it was about a boy who was sick (i think) and he was taken away by some character (i forgot) and he traveled places with that character. and i think the ending was when he came back and it was morning and his mom came in. i think his name was prolly tim or timmy. im not sure bout the name though. anyone know????

I would like to know the name and a website for the magic, disappearing little dog that was on the Popeye cartoons I think. It’s a cute little dog that would disappear and reappear. it's from and old cartoon from the 50's maybe. I'm not exactly sure which cartoon it was in.

how many of you actually think that cartoons today are real cartoons? not BS thats just simply been drawn and put on tv? come on im a whole 15 i know what cartoons should be! Tom and jerry, popeye, felix the cat, mickey, donald duck, goofy, u know that dang, i really whant to know who thinks that the tv kids watch is really a real cartoon?!?!?!?!?

I'm not sure that anyone will know this. I don't know why I've been thinking of this lately, but there is a cartoon from my childhood I used to love that I want to find. It's animated in this spindly, overly-detailed style, but I can't recall the name. Circa 1985-6?
The plot, as I remember, is that there is a witch who stumbles across three children, dressed for Halloween as a monster, a ghost, and something else. She decides to grant them their Halloween wish and turn them into their costumes for real. Havoc ensued. I think it ends with the witch being confronted by the parents of all the children in town, She convinces them that she did what she did, not out of malice, but a love of Halloween. She encourages all the adults to remember their love of this season, and they eventually do. Then she grants them their Halloween wish, and turns all the adults into their favorite Halloween characters, including a Wolfman, Frankenstein, and more ghosts. Then they all party.
I know there is an obscure pop-culture vulture out there somewhere that can help me out here! And you will be crowned King/Queen of the Obscure 80's Movies.

Who was more vicious? When did Wimpey come along? Sea Hag, name the weird "freak" in the cartoon...Are Popeye and Olyve Oyle married? If not, explain Swee'pea! Get everything right, you win!

What I am saying is why spinach? why not carrot, or tomato?
Also, why he is a sailor? Is Bluto also a sailor? There is a girl in the cartoon as well. I forgot her name, Is she also a sailor? The story about them seldom occurs in a ship, am I right? Why not cowboy? I simply can't understand.

Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone remembers an old cartoon that used to play on tv around halloween time every year back in the 90's. I dont remember a whole lot of it except that it was about a group of friends and i think one of the main characters was a girl, and one of their friends who's a guy gets kidnapped by a guy who lives in a big creepy castle or mansion and when they find him he's turned to stone and i think has water coming out of his mouth...i know it sounds really weird but i used to watch it every year and for the life of me i cant think what its called. i know its a very vague description but its all i remember and i'd be very grateful to anyone who can help...thanks!

I saw a song on E4 last night, but I didn't manage to catch the name or artist. Sorry about the vague description, but it's all I can remember.

It was a cartoon video, which was in black and white...in a kind of style that reminded me of Popeye. It had quite a heavy bass. I think there were a few lyrics to do with being a lier...fibber, or fibbing or porkies or something like that. I think they were spoken, or sung slowly. I wish I'd caught the title to this song, it's really annoying me that I can't remember! Any help is appreciated!!

What was Olive Oil's deal? Was she a player or what? And where was Sweet Pea's parents? Questions and more question re: that cartoon.
Here is Popeye's very first cartoon. Enjoy!!!!

Was there another cartoon that had someone eat spinach for super strength?

I am not referring to another character of Popeye cartoons. I am referring to any cartoon not Popeye related.
I swear, there is a cartoon out there that has spinach eating for strength in it. I don't remember the name of it but I know there is one.

This strong gigantic man, is shaped like the cartoon figure, Brutus (in Popeye). I am no Popeye, I am a short rather sinewy man. My sweetheart is a pretty chubby and much taller than me. Whenever Brutus meets us together he physically shoves me aside and asks my sweeheart, "What are you doing, dating this weakling pigmy?" My sweetheart also hates this kind of behavior and often tries to avoid his ugly overtures. The bully is huge and strong and perhaps can squeeze water out of stone! I dare not challenge him to a physical. What should I do to stop him?

she always gets on my nerves............
M.D - the show? popeye? the old cartoon?? you can't tell me you've never seen it. O.O *GASP*

I'm referring to the cartoon on Nickolodeon. My daughter wants to be a Kyoshi warrior, Katara, or even Princess Azula.

It was about a girl. I think her name was Ramona but i cant really remember. This show was on between like 1997-2004. I have searched everything i can think of to find the name of this cartoon and no one else remembers it. I don't think that it was on for very long.

Who was more vicious? When did Wimpey come along? Besides the Sea Hag, name the weird "freak" in the cartoon...Are Popeye and Olyve Oyle married? If not, explain Swee'pea! Get everything right, you win!

Are copies of old cartoons available anywhere?
Izzy, Tom & Jerry was a cat & mouse!
Go Blitz. Someof these I have never heard of but I will check them out!
Dave, will do. Planning a party with Name this cartoon!
