I don't remember what it was but it looked like the sane cartoon as popeye. I think it was a horse and a sheep. They were in the woods drinking beer I think maybe rootbeer. And they I think got drunk and were singing? Sorry that's all I remember. Oh I remember it was black and white. It was a while ago. Do you have any idea what this could be?

Please no rude or stupid answers.
Thanks.

I am hoping someone can help me find an old cartoon from the 1930's or 1940's. I don't know the name of it and I am not sure if it's in color as we had a black and white tv set when I was little. The cartoon is about witches that live under the ground and a boy is in the garden and the witches pull him underground when he reaches for some vegetables out of the garden.
This cartoon scared the heck out of me when I was little but I would like to see it again just to see what I was scared of in it.
Can someone help me?
As far as I can remember it had no name characters like popeye or anyone, but it was shown at least once a month on the old Whizzo the clown show in Kansas city missouri back in the late 1950's/early 1960's.
This cartoon wasn't a show in the 60's. It wasn't HRPuffenstuff. It was just an old cartoon that was shown once in awhile on a kids show on a local channel.

Obama offering 4 trillion in cuts in 10 years & asking to raise our debt by 2.5 trillion this year kind of remind you of cartoon "Popeye", where the character Wimpy would frequently utter this phrase:

""I'LL GLADLY PAY YOU TUESDAY FOR A HAMBURGER TODAY""

He was a glutton, and would consume burgers at a ferocious rate but could rarely pay for his habit.

To: My bad

The Obama administration, as well as few of his predecessors, much of the media and many economists, tend to equate failure to raise the debt limit with default.
That's not precisely true.
The Treasury Department estimates that the federal government will collect a bit more than 3 billion in taxes during August — roughly billion just in the first three days. But, during August, the federal government is expected to spend 7 billion. That is why we have a problem.

If the government is not able to borrow more money after Aug. 2, spending will have to be reduced to the amount of revenue that the government has. That would require roughly a 44 percent cut in federal spending.

This will almost certainly hurt. But it's not the same as default.

During August, interest payments on the federal debt will total roughly billion, meaning that there will be sufficient revenue to meet our obligations to creditors.
In addition, some 7 billion in government bonds is expected to come due during August, and will have to be rolled over. Though this rollover requires Treasury to enter the debt markets to purchase new securities, it is not technically "new" debt, and so does not run afoul of the debt limit.

The concern is that the U.S. would end up having to pay higher interest rates on this rolled over debt. That's not a trivial concern: A 1 percent increase in interest rates could cost taxpayers more than 0 billion per year.
Still, we should keep that in perspective — it's less than the amount that the government expects to borrow this month. And that is sort of worst case scenario. In 1979, the federal government actually did briefly default on its debt as the result of a debt ceiling impasse (as well a
as technical problems). That resulted in just a 60-basis-point increase in interest rates.
If we are really worried about a hike in interest rates, what about the hike we can expect if we fail to get federal borrowing under control? Both our deficit and total liabilities are already higher as a percentage of gross domestic product than Greece — or any of the other failing welfare states of Europe.

Popeye the sailor man? This cartoon was popular in the 1940 .

We're having a rally at our school based on cartoons. Which cartoon would you pick for a rally filled with teenagers? Do you have any other selections? Here are our choices:

Scooby Doo
Tom and Jerry
Popeye
Charlie Brown
Mickey Mouse Clubhouse
Rugrats

Thank you!

It would seem like she modeled for the person making the cartoon figure.
She is dear and sweet inside. It is just that the sea hag frightens me and so does Olga when her pic comes out!

Figure name the cartoon

I remember watching this movie when little (in 1989)... I am trying to search the details of this movie online but can't find any record what-so-ever, which is strange...

It was: a) black & white, b) in english, c) overall a comedy movie, d) the popeye character had strong forearms as in the cartoon...

Anyone has any info?

Thanks!
Thanks for the replies.. no it was not Robin William's movie... (I clearly remember that one). And like I said, it was not cartoon...

I see a lot of people hating on anime saying that because of it, a lot of American cartoons have gone off the air. This is not true. Those cartoons like Looney Tunes, Popeye, Mickey Mouse, they are off the air because people got tired of them. When you air a cartoon for so many years, people eventually get tired of it.

The same exact thing happens with a lot of Animes here in the U.S. They go off the air because people stop watching them. I am tired of these ******* rednecks who go around bashing Anime and the Japanese, it's annoying.

BQ: What's your favorite old-style cartoon?

I remeber seeing a cartoon of Popeye where he is at an island or something and these big tall woman live there and fall inlove with Popeye. They had a wierd name and that is what im trying to find out.

I mean, I can't get popeye on my arm if I'm in the army right? Well I could but it wouldn't make much sense, ya know? So is there any cartoon that goes with the army? A cool one?

Cartoon.

I say ''masculinist'' rather than ''male'' because the view of male behavior promulgated by hard-core evolutionary psychologists is as narrow and inflexible as their view of womanhood is.

I'm not interested in explaining to men what they really want or how they should behave. If a fellow chooses to tell himself that his yen for the fetching young assistant in his office and his concomitant disgruntlement with his aging wife make perfect Darwinian sense, who am I to argue with him? I'm only proposing here that the hard-core evolutionary psychologists have got a lot about women wrong -- about some of us, anyway -- and that women want more and deserve better than the cartoon Olive Oyl handed down for popular consumption.

The cardinal premises of evolutionary psychology of interest to this discussion are as follows: 1. Men are more promiscuous and less sexually reserved than women are. 2. Women are inherently more interested in a stable relationship than men are.

a Bugs Bunny movie similar to Cat in the Hat & The Gringe, Popeye portrayed by Michael Myers and Jim Carey and Robin Williams respectively. Even a movie like the Flinstones falls into that category of cartoons being brought to life in the big screen.

Which current Hollywood actor would be perfect to the Bugs Bunny role? Keep in mind his voice and his look .
Robin Williams was brilliant as Popeye, John Goodman was good as Fred Flinstone, and both Carey and Myers were both good in their own Dr Seus movies.

Does anyone else remember these classic Christmas (or similar) cartoons?

Santa's Surprise
Christmas comes but once a year
Somewhere in Dreamland

and similar cartoons, like Popeye, Betty Boop, Little Lulu?

I think they were made in the 40's or 50's originally, but I grew up watching them because we had some old tapes. I still pull them out every year. You can't beat the quality of the old cartoons... they have something wonderful that the more modern ones just don't have!
on the contrary, cajohnson667, I'm only 19!

And its awesome that I'm not the only one who loves 'Somewhere in Dreamland'. Its just a good wholesome cartoon :) and Warner Bros were not racist... *grumbles at stupid politically correct paranoia*

my grandpa has some kind of anchor type thing goin on. and i know this is a cartoon but so did popeye the sailor man

The cartoon was set up to look very similar to black and white mickey mouse cartoons. And this main character was also a mouse. I think the animations were shown on the website only. The backing music tracks were like 20-30's period music. And the character's name was the name of the cartoon. There were several episodes. The story lines included his girlfriend too, and a Bluto like rival. I think the name began with an S and ended with an O, but I could be totally wrong. I know I have not given very much to work with here, but This is driving me insane.

Does anybody remeber the old cartoons of Donald Duck where he had three "nephwes", Huey, duey, and luey? I remeber he had Daisy his girl friend babysit sometimes, but they mostley stayed with him, where did they come from? Where is this "brother" or "sister" The nephwes came from? or where they Daisey's brother or sisters? Also, if Goofey is a dog, (wich I am guessing he is), how come Pluto (mickey mouses dog) can't stand and talk either? Also do you remeber the cartoon Poeype? He had a baby named "sweet pea" whose was that? Every one watched him, and bluto, still tryed to get Olive oil, and poeypye still tryed to date her too, (what a slut) and the baby was seen bounceing back and forth, weird...

This cartoon featured a gag in which the sailor man makes a muscle, then a little arm came out of the muscle, and it made a muscle. Does anyone know the title of the picture and what year it was made?

I'm trying to watch "Heavy Metal" on my PS2 and when I put the disc in, it just sits there. Won't even spin. I tried "Heavy Metal 2000" and "Me, Myself, and Irene" and those didn't work either, so I thought my PS2 was finally taking a sh*t, but then I put in this "Popeye" DVD (the old cartoon) and it worked fine. So did "Escape from New York." So what's up with my PS2?
The discs are perfectly fine. No scratches, smudges, dirt, or anything. And I thought maybe it was the parental control thing but "Escape from New York" is rated R and it plays fine.
