Old Cartoon Vhs collection?
I remember having 3 or 4 videos that had series of different cartoons, most were in black and white, it had Superman, Loony Toons, Felix the Cat, Mighty Mouse, symphony ones, Popeye, and old fairy tale stories as well. I remember each vhs cover being one color, one red, one blue, and the other yellow, and the covers had some of the cartoon characters under the title, like a big mass. I had them during the 90s and I've been trying to find them since they were lost.
Unfortunately, outside of places like flea markets, garage sales, thrift shops, etc.; you might never find any of them.
What you are remembering are cheaply made collections of animated shorts that fell into public domain over the past decades here in the United States because of all the irregularities in this country’s copyright laws.
For example: Warner Brothers still owns the Looney Tunes characters, yet specific cartoons are no longer theirs alone. So over the years, distributors have issued cheaply made VHS copies of these cartoons for a quick buck.
Those same companies are now doing it on DVD, so you might luck out and find a copy of what you’re looking for in that format. So you can add bargain bins at places like Wal-mart or anywhere else you can buy DVDs to the list in the first paragraph.
In any event, I wish you luck and sorry I couldn’t be of more help.
