My bf and I are having a debate and need other opinions.?
Ok, remember Popeye the Sailor man when we were kids. Would you consider him a super hero? I think he is because when he eats spinach he has super powers. What do you think? (If you don't know who Popeye is Google it) My bf thinks he never saved anyone so he is not a hero. But he used to save Olive Oil (his girlfriend all the time) I say my bf is wrong? This is important...LOL.
Popeye didn’t have to hide behind tights and capes. He saved the town as well as Sweet-Pea and Olive Oyle from Bluto and the Commadore’s high taxes in the movie. Bluto was his Lex Luther and he used the power that spinach gave him to defeat him much like Batman’s utility belt. Clark Kent couldn’t fly without his cape. Super-hero? YES!

Also, he didn’t get super powers, it was just a gimmick to get kids to eat vegetables so they would grow up to be "big and strong".
