How come Popeye’s restaurants don’t serve spinach?
You'd think in a Popeye's restaurant that would be a logical thing to serve, since Popeye the Sailor was famous for his spinach.
Or at least seafood.

BECAUSE! THAT’S WHY!
BECAUSE CHUCK NORRIS ATE IT
Contrary to popular belief, Popeye’s Chicken is not named for Popeye the Sailor, but after Popeye Doyle, a character in the movie "The French Connection", which came out in the early 1970s.
The chain’s founder, Al Copeland, was a big fan of the movie.
As for seafood, they occasionally sell shrimp or crawfish for a limited time.
Popeye’s is a chicken joint. They serve chicken. Do you actually think spinach would sell, anyway? Would you actually sell spinach at your fast food chain? Popeye’s the food place has nothing to do with the cartoon.
those are two diff subjects
Their crawfish etouffee was good and some locations still serve catfish and shrimp. I was sure they once had kids meals with Popeye The Sailor toys, but maybe not. I don’t think spinach will ever be popular enough for fast food places. Unless they deep-fry it.
The franchise is not named after Popeye, it’s named after Popeye Doyle, from the French Connection.
As others have noted, it was named after Popeye Doyle, which is why they originally served knuckle sandwiches.
No, Popeyes if a FF restaurant. It serves fried chicken. Thats what they do. How long do you think they’d be in business serving fried spinach. Hey, thats a great idea! I didn’t say that.
