Ah the good ol’ days ^^
I don’t remember some of those things…. I’m in Australia…. but I do remember coke in small bottles, and when it was in big bottles, you could return the empty for a refund. I remember platform shoes, velvet pit suits, satin harem pants, Yardley Pot O’Gloss (lip gloss in a little orange pot), Koogle (chocolate spread), Appla & Kandy soft drinks, dragstar bicycles with pegs attached to the spokes to make that awful sound. I remember Klik Klak toys, yo yos… they made many comebacks, hula hoops, Popeye, Bill & Ben - the flowerpot men, I remember when going to a movie an usherette would show you to your seat - the number of which was on your ticket, and before the real movie they would show a cartoon or documentary - which always seemed to be about planes! I remember drive in movies in every suburb and roller skating rinks…….
I remember thunder cats, tang, climbing trees, back to the future, full house, perms, really big bows, and leg warmers.
i rember Coke in small bottles, Buried Treasure Ice Cream, when penny candy was actually a penny but i dont rember the rest.
I remember the old coke bottles with peanuts in it. Candy Cigerettes. Dr. Pepper with 10, 2 and 4 on the bottle. And, grapico. Walking to the store to get the penny candy and not being afraid of anything. Oh, man Captain Kangaroo and MR. GREEN JEANS. Do you think that he would scare people today. We had a guy locally that did a similar show.
And believe it or not, I remember when wrestling was real! Yes, REAL. I also remember watching it with my great-grandmother!
When gas was 75cents a gallon AND you could pump then pay!!!!!
when gas was 1dollar a gallon
All the above except for the ice cream. Oh yeah, the good ole days, smokes were 50 cents, gas was 35 cents a gallon, the air was clean, people were nice, the lifestyle was slow, you could ride your bike as a kid and not be worried, about being kidnapped or beat up. Mom always made fresh baked goodies for us, the word pot meant dishes, acid was something you cleaned things with, coke was coca cola, cars cost 4000 dollars new, bread was 25cents a loaf, you could buy fresh corn in the summer for 1.50 a dozen, Yes, I remember the good old days.
I do remember Coke in the small bottles…. seemed to taste better from glass, instead of cans….
Riding my bike without a helmet, riding in the back of pickup trucks, drinking water from the hose, slip’n’slide, "Sky King","E" tickets.
clackers, 2 cent candy in several flavors, Saturday night at the movies.. Little House on the Prairie.. Foghorn Leghorn, Underdog, Dr. Pepper in a bottle and with a much different taste., no drive by shootings, Most popular drug was marijuana none of this chemical stuff… bell bottoms … bandanas, wearing army jackets and walking around in public places without shoes.
