A Q about Men, Women and the Female Form?
Have you ever been in a situation where a women lamented that her butt was too big or her hips were too wide, and then a man steps in and tried to assure her that (a) her dimensions are not out of proportion and (b) men like hips and butts to look that way?
Why do women want to look like Olive Oyl, while men want them to have curves, and then why do women attempt to blame the "male owned" media for their own personally-manufactured insecurities?
I have absolutely no idea. Why do so many women want to look skinny? We all know men like curves. I think it proves that women dress/look how they do for other women.
It’s kinda like men wondering if their schlongs are big enough, when most women are happy with average. A bigger schlong would be nice, but it’s not worth worrying about it.
Personally-manufactured my @ss! Do not underestimate the power of the media in shaping a woman’s perception of body image. We are exposed to stick thin models and actresses a thousand times every day from toddlerhood.
Do you really think that even hundreds of comments from male partners can have greater influence over our body image than those thousands and thousands of media exposures? Especially when, despite your kind words about our generous cabooses, we find issues of Maxim & Playboy under your side of the bed?
Women ought to get some spine, and strive to be fit, not an under weight wimp, and say if the media doesn’t like it they can go to hell. I wear a size ten to twelve, but a relatively low fat percentage. Muscle is what gives you curves.
I think every man has his own preference of what is attractive to him. I personally like having curves but I disagree with "princess" because not all men like curves. That is like saying all women like men with huge muscles. So no I don’t want to look like olive oyl and yes I enjoy having large breasts, hips and a butt. It gives me a reason to keep my stomach toned. I don’t want anything to take away from my assets so to speak
Which question do you want answered?
I think in alot of cases, we really don’t think we look all that bad; we just want some attention and a bit of assurance that our curves, though unfashionable, are sexy anyways.
Don’t ask me why women try to blame the media for their own insecurities. It makes no sense to me. If I’m insecure, that’s my issue to deal with rather than the fault of the media….and if I’ve let the media influence me that much, well, that’s on me too.
