i have a uni project to do, i chose to do a campaign against smoking.. and i decided to use cartoon characters that were known for smoking in my illustrations in a funny way,
only thing is i cant find enough characters known for smoking!

i only remembered one, popeye the sailor guy.

any other characters on your mind?
thanks

It's from the 80's I think and it's got cartoon couples like Popeye and Olive Oyl, I think it also showed a sperm swimming to a heart? I want to say it's either a Phil Collins song or Foreigners "I want to know what love is" - but I can't find reference to it any where.

Do you remember any 80's dance moves
and 80's movies?

‘’80's MOVIES’’

I remember 80’s movies like
The Last Dragon,
My Bodyguard,
Breaking,
Street Beat,
Purple Rain,
and The Goonies.
The Goonies
was the first movie
that I've seen in theaters
and my favorite too.

‘’80's DANCE MOVES’’

The Cabbage path
by The World Class Wreckin' Cru,
The Brass monkey
by The Beastie Boys,
The Alf
by Bass Patrol,
The Pee-Wee's Dance
by Joeski Love,
The Running Man,
The Roger Rabbit,
The Moonwalk,
The Smurf,
The Popeye,
The Jerry Lewis,
and ‘’The Fly’’
by The World Class Wreckin' Cru.

My older friends also created their own called
‘’The Compton Walk’’ It was an 80's dance move
not gang related just for fun.
They’d spell out Compton with their feet wearing
Converse all star Chuck Taylors.
To the sounds of N.W.A, Eazy-E, Mix Master Spade,
and King Tee. It was a City of Compton, CA thing.
There was also an 80’s dance move Called
The Ole Eight (Old English 800) by Eazy-E
that one wasn’t that famous
because Eazy-E and N.W.A
didn’t mentioned it as much
only on the song ‘’Eight Ball’’

If so what 80's dance moves
and 80's movies do you remember?
Oh, Wait! I am such a dummy
for not mentioning The Outsiders,
and The Karate Kid!

..

Popeye, the flintstones are inelegible--has to be only cereal box cartoons, like Frakenberry, Sonny from Cocoa Puffs, Snap Crackle and Pop etc

Like "Barnacle Bill the Sailor" or something??? Anyone remember that episode?

Why not eggs? Or Coffee? I'm sure there's a story behind this (marketing ploy?). A great link for this one would be appreciated!

Once there was this little prairie dog who liked cranberry flavored toothpaste & when he went to the market to buy fish for his pet butterfly he got robbed by russian hobos cuz they thought he looked like Al Capone & they tried to drown him in a pool of blended stamps that they made the previous morning with there Sister in-law Gertrude who was involved with the Swiss mafia & helped them in the assassination of Aunt Jemima who had previously been in cahoots with Popeye because Popeye owned a pair of boots that were worn by Elvis when he did the video for Jailhouse rock but he didn't have evidence that they were really Elvis's so he traveled to Bolivia where a young man named Franz Shingleton assisted him in the burglary of 3 rare artifacts which were owned by a talking leaf blower who was a slave to a man who always wore pajamas because in his land there was no day due to the fact that the suns orbit was controlled by a group of Norwegian cannibals who had a theory that the right side of the human brain had control over what other people thought of them but this idea was shot down by The International Council of Theory Analyzing Caterpillars or TIC TAC which was coincidentally where the tasty mint candies came from & since it is the common belief that caterpillars can't talk it is very easy for the council to stay hidden from the workers in the Black Market who make a good profit off of baby Caterpillar eggs because they are actually TicTacs and can be used in the process of mattress manufacturing.

I'm really skinny. Too skinny and people make fun of me all the time. I'm 16 and I look like I'm 13. People call me anorexic, they ask me if I even eat, etc. Today my tennis coach was pissed at me and yelled "F*cking Olive Oyl!", you know, that super skinny girl from Popeye, and I felt like sh*t.

I have a really low self esteem because my friends make fun of my clothes, my body, my boobs, my hair, to name a few, and now, even my coach makes fun of me.

So, my point is: why is it okay to call someone anorexic (when they're not, it's just genes) but if someone calls another person fat, then they're an awful person?

I'm not saying it's okay to call someone fat, I'm saying it's not okay to make fun of anyone.

Opinions?

I think Popeye could take on any Dragonball Fighter or any other Manga character. Oldfashoned spinach eating American sailor woop### can beat anything the Japanese empire can throw at him. What do you think!

LOL.. I don't eat spinach, so I don't know how to cook it.. but my 4 year old saw Popeye on the can and begged me for it.. she does like other greens (okra, broccoli, asparagus...etc.).. suggestions for cooking the canned spinach so it tastes best?
Oh, really, that easy??? No additions like fried bacon or sliced onion? Wow.. haha.. I can do that! LOL

Coke in small bottles, Buried Treasure Ice Cream, when penny candy was actually a penny and had a multitude of varieties? Popeye, Mighty Mouse, Captain Kangaroo, when going to a movie as a kid only cost 25 cents. Ahhhh the good old days!

Tell me, what do you remember from your childhood?

I have noticed every guy in that lineup looks real Buff.
Even little Skip Schumaker is pumped up with chest protruding like a rooster.
Matt Holiday could play the role of the Incredible Hulk.
Pujols looks like a beast.
Colby Rasmus arms look like popeye!
Just giving a few examples.
What is the secret for these guys being so much buff then last season?

I remember as a youngster seeing a Popeye episode (I think he and Bluto were playing baseball or something). But what I do remember clearly is that Bluto swapped Popeye's spinach with what was probably "wacky tobacky". Anyways, it was pretty funny when spinach-eatin' theme music came on and he squeezed open and ate the contents in the spinach can. He finishes chewing and the spinach-eatin' theme music slows down and Popeye is drowsy (or high). I know this sounds strange but I'm a sucker for nostalgia and this is the one thing I cannot find! I can't find this thing on the internet! If anyone knows the name of this episode please help a brother out.

And is everything really" Great" with Tony The Tiger?

Back when he first starred in popeye the sailor man and later on good morning vietnam. With his personality and looks back then would you marry him?

I have been lifting weights for the past 2 weeks and today after my arm workout, I flexed and I noticed that my bicep looked a little weird. I felt it and its like there is a break in the muscle...two seperate bumbs-like a camels back...Its not in pain, and I really cant feel anything out of the ordinary. Im just worried about what it is, can anyone help?
the only thing is...this has never happended before-and ive lifted weights before and gained muscle that looked "normal". Is this gonna last forever? you have four eyes...
no but seriously im really weirded out by this-totally feels mishapen..

Every time he sucked spinach into his pipe it kind of looked like he was smoking pot.

What's IN that pipe, anyway?

No anime or manga!

*Isma (The Emporor's New Groove)
*Yubaba (Spirited Away) (I know it's an anime movie but it's the only one i like besides Castle in the Sky and Kiki's Delivery Service)
*Herbert (Family Guy)
*Olive Oyl (Popeye)

and the list goes on... What are yours?
