One of my friends noted to me this morning that my dog follows some very different kinds of commands. I never really thought about it before, but my dog knows commands like -

Knock it off/can it/don't make me have to kill you - meaning stop what you're doing right now
chill/Chill out/chillax - some people use "settle" but my dog will certainly chillax when told lol.
Have some wa wa - get a drink lol.
Haul a$$ - this one is actually from the Popeye movie with Robin Williams (those that have seen it will know what I'm talking about). Haul a$$, Haul a$$!!! and it means, get out of my way.

What sort of funny things does your dog know?

I have a few questions about these name origins.

1) How did the name "Pluto" (the dog) originate? Is it possible that "Pluto" came from "Bluto", or vice versa, judging that Popeye and "Steamboat Mickey" were made around the same time? (What years did they come out?

2) What came first, Woodstock, the bird from Snoopy, or Woodstock, the music festival? Was one named after the other? Again, when did these events occur (Woodstock the bird coming out whenever Charles thought him up or published him.)

The cartoon itself is titled simply 'Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy' and is a 17 minute short cartoon by Dave Fleischer. I keep getting lead to a Popeye anthology and its possible it was put on there but I don't want to shell out more than 50 dollars for a dvd set I won't even watch. =( And if it helps any, it was made in 1941. I don't ask for a free view online. I would certainly pay. Anything would be helpful.

I'm a gymnast so one day while I was stretching I heard behind me someone (I know his name is Emo but we don't know each other personally, anyway we've never spoken to each other) to tell somebody: "hey doesn't she remind you of Olive Oyl from Popeye the sailor cartoon?
I thought they were talking about me, so I turned to them. The first guy - Emo asked me about my name, I told them it's Meggie, but the other guy didn't hear it rights and said "Peggie?!" and started to laugh. I got annoyed (and also blushed with my stupid shyness) and said loudly "My name is Meggie." then the first guy said "sorry he didn't heard it right.because he's dull". Anyway I went on my training.
Then on other day I went to the gym I heard "Hey, Olive". It was the first guy - Emo, but in that moment I was with my back to him so I decided not to turn round to him and not to say anything. It didn't sound like mockery, but normally and simple.
Also today while I was doing my routine on the beam, other guy asked Emo to make a clip of his high bar routine so Emo stood next to the beam I was practicing on. He asked me if he was standing in my way (he asked me simply, without laughing ot anything else) but I said no. Actually the true answer was yes but I didn't own up. I continued doing my exercise but as I burned with shame (because I wasn't calm to concentrate and fell few times off the beam) I just sat on the ground and took some rest.

I really don't understand. Do you think he had had any thoughts or intentions of me buy saying that about Olive Oyl?
What would you think if you were me and you were compared to Olive Oyl?

why olive and bluto can't?

Does anyone know where i can find the episode of popeye where he shot shorty? its an old black and white one and it was like Olive's birthday or something and it was funny!! I wanna show my sister

my precious Doctor Snugglewoof, a prize-winning beagle, had a litter of curly gray-haired, long-eared pups. i'm certain the pure-bred beagle we hired didn't father these curs. I suspect bluto, our neighbor's toy poodle. can i force the neighbor to submit to a paternity test?
